In early December 2014, the BVI Financial Services Commission (FSC) launched its newest initiative, the ability to deliver Certificates of Good Standing electronically.
The electronic delivery of Certificates of Good Standing is part of the BVI’s financial services sectors continuing efforts to improve service efficiency for client. Clients will now be able to transact business in an even more timely manner – certificates will be able to be emailed as soon as they are received from the FSC. In addition to saving time, clients will be able to save money in terms of courier fees.
Electronic Certificates of Good Standing will bear the same security features as traditional hard copy certificates and users can authenticate any Certificate of Good Standing that they are delivered by using the certificate authentication service on the FSC’s website at www.bvifsc.vg
As a transition, clients will receive an electronic copy and the physical Certificate of Good Standing until 1 February 2015 for the current FSC fee of $25. After 1 February 2015 the default position will be that only the electronic copy will be delivered. If a client requires a physical certificate then an additional fee of $25 will be charged by the FSC.
